  • How I Use Failure to Motivate Myself?

I don’t seem to learn very much when everything is going great. It is usually in my failures that God gets my attention. The other day I didn’t deliver on time a project I had promised. The client was upset. I had failed to deliver on what I had promised. I look at it like this: if something went wrong in a project, client, vendor, deal, or employee, it’s a check engine light that something needs fixing. I had to flat-out confess to the client that I was sorry and I had no other choice but to make it right. Sometimes God humbles us to test our reaction before He lifts us up. The bible says "Whoever abandons the right path will be severely disciplined; whoever hates correction will die. Even Death and Destruction hold no secrets from the Lord . How much more does he know the human heart! Mockers hate to be corrected, so they stay away from the wise". Proverbs 15:10‭-‬12 NLT Have you ever been embarrassed or ashamed with a client situation only to discover later that your experience was supremely valuable? Maybe your failure turned your life in a way that nothing else could have accomplished. I have found that down is the way up in business. Anyone can handle success. How you handle failure as a Godpreneur is a sign of greatness. All entrepreneurs will suffer setbacks and discouragement; it come with the territory if you are trying to do what you were born to do. The one who is always playing it safe will never find out what kind of stuff they are made of. The failures and disappointments we experience in our businesses are not always what they appear to be. Maybe they are really just momentary set-backs as we focus on God’s will for our businesses. Godpreneur Rule: Humble yourself before God and He will lift your business up. #SharpenLeadership #GainConfidence

  • Not Feeling the Calling of Entrepreneurship? Here’s Why.

I feel I was born to own an agency. I love the process of helping people start and grow their businesses. I have this desire, or this supernatural calling, to come alongside entrepreneurs to uncover and bring to life the business God created them to start.  I want to help them tell the whole world about it. But I didn’t always feel this way. When I first started my agency, I had no idea of what the concept of “calling” was. I didn’t know I had a calling and I certainly didn’t know I was supposed to help my clients bring their calling to life. See, when I started my agency in 2005, I was deep into the nightlife world in Miami. I locked in all the major clubs on South Beach as clients. We did their websites, logos, flyer designs, and social media marketing. And business was GOOD! Then in 2008, a friend invited me to church. I started attending regularly. That’s when I felt the nudge to leave the nightlife niche. It felt wrong to help nightclubs grow their business (attract more people to them) while I thought that God wanted me out of all the alcohol, drugs, and women that came with it. Mostly, I was being called (and rescued) from “nightlife darkness” and invited to join “God’s light.” And I knew that if I was going to follow Christ, I needed to run a business worthy of this holy invitation. All of us Godpreneurs have the same invitation to be God’s light in our industry. A calling from God to help people with our products and services isn’t just for some of us; it’s for all of us business owners who believe. Every Christian business owner has God’s calling on their life. The Greek define “calling” as a divine invitation. We have the opportunity to make God our new CEO and show us an entirely new way of owning and running a business. So what if we haven’t felt this calling yet? What if we can’t see a way to be a light in our industry? How can we get to a place where we feel worthy of being called to the high responsibility of running a brand that reflects God’s light in our industries? Jesus says: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing. (John 15:5 NIV) It’s God’s nature to want to be in a healthy relationship with us. By design, He sent us Jesus so that we would have a guide to show us how to run our businesses and service our clients. If you want to feel the calling to Godpreneurual business life, if you wish for God to reveal the specific niche clientele you’re supposed to shepherd, and if you want to feel worthy and purposeful in the products and services your business produces, you need to ask yourself how you can become more like Christ. You have to remember that on your own, you can’t become like Christ. On your own, you’ll be missing out on what the Holy Spirit wants to inspire you to say and do in your business. We entrepreneurs have to choose to follow Him actively. It helps us feel the joy and peace we need to create products and services that will change the world. When we can abide with Christ and strengthen our relationship with God, the companies we launch can have even more fruitful results! It’s the divine connection to God that changes what we do. This change in mindset is what will help us feel worthy of the calling of owning a business. I pray you draw nearer to God so you can become the business owner God created you to be. #FindMyCalling #BusinessBibleStudy #AgencyOwners The 7 Calling Killers Overcome the Enemy's Plan to Steal, Kill, and Destroy the Entrepreneurial Calling Over Your Life. • Your Purpose in Business will Bear Fruit

When I first started my branding agency in 2005, our clientele was primarily nightclubs, bars, and strip clubs. Our services would help them attract more patrons to their establishments. But when I became a Godpreneur, I let those clients go because I was contributing to the bad fruit that those businesses produce on a nightly basis. So then I switched to helping any entrepreneurs launch their businesses. As long as the business wasn’t in direct competition with God’s plans, I took on the work. But as I became more “purpose-focused” with my company, I didn’t settle with just launching someone’s idea. I wanted more. I wanted to make sure the entrepreneur was starting the business that God created them to start. What was happening to me as I drew closer to God in my business? I was beginning to care more about the fruit that my business and the business of those I launched was born into the world. That’s when I knew I was 100% in my calling. This is when I felt my business had found its purpose. When we start our businesses, we aren’t immediately operating in our calling. But if we stay in the Word and keep drawing closer to God, the business will shift into its purpose – God’s purpose! On this journey of leading a God-first business, we Christian entrepreneurs are all in this process of growing, discovering, and learning. But every day our businesses aren’t doing something for the Kingdom is a day we’ve wasted in the marketplace. The Bible says: “You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you."(John 15:16 MSG) The fruit produced from seeds of dreams that God inspires will always bring Him glory and others in your business good. As you think about your calling in business and why it matters to you, look for ways your purpose-focused business will impact and improve the lives of your employees, vendors, contractors, prospects, clients, and might I challenge you by saying, competitors. So how can we identify the products and services that will increase our impact in the marketplace and carry out the dreams God put on our hearts? The first step is to analyze what motivates us. What motivates, God, duplicates! God wants to double, triple, even 10x our ability to bear a fruit because that’s what our businesses are here to do!. Is what you spend the bulk of your talents, time, and treasures on in your business worthy of being worked on in the image of God? No? Drop it. YES? Double down on it in 2020. The second step is to analyze if your products and services are going to be rewarded when we get to heaven or will we be embarrassed? When we analyze what we’re doing from an eternal perspective, it has us thinking twice about our calling. Now that we’ve done some critical thinking about our purpose in business in light of God’s purpose, now the third step is to make a list of things we need to change so we can leverage our products, people, and profits for the glory of God and the benefit of our designated marketplace. Uncovering our calling in business is all about merging (or intersecting) our desires and dreams with God’s purpose for the world. Imagine a world where all of us Christian entrepreneurs are living out a calling in business that bears fruit as John 15:16 says! We can often look at the products, people, and profits of a business to identify where God is working and how He has created that entrepreneur to live out the dream He has placed within him. Look no further than @ChickfilA if you want to see a real-life success story of a Godpreneur bearing much fruit, even after he’s gone from the business. #BusinessBibleStudy #FindingMyPurpose Entrepreneurship on Purpose A 3-Day business Bible study to help you uncover your calling to bear fruit that your business can have an eternal impact and glorify God. • A Prayer For Business

A little over a month ago, I was recovering from some mild burnout, and somewhere in there, the call in my spirit to change my approach to business came welling up out of me. Since then, I have been pursuing Kingdom engagement daily in my approach to everything I do at my desk. I somehow stumbled on a Daily Godpreneur Devotional Plan, and that is how my road here started. The prayer I wrote below is what I pray every time I sit down at my desk to work, ensuring all of me is aligned and submitted to hear God’s voice amid the goals, the customer reach-outs, the strategizing, team-leading, etc. You will notice a space for you to insert your name near the end, so when I say this for me, I say, Kelly Bat Yahweh, which means Kelly Daughter of Yahweh. If you are a male, you would say, Alex Ben Yahweh, for example. Be blessed today in whose you are and as you go about your work on behalf of His Kingdom. I invite you to pray this with me: Father, I come to you in the precious name of Your Son Jesus and thank you, Jesus, for your blood that allows me to come boldly before the Father’s Throne of Grace. Father, I thank you that you hear me and that I am welcomed. I thank you for making me in your image I and praise you for the purpose and destiny that You have imbedded in my DNA and my spirit; I call it forth now and choose to step into it at this moment. Father, I humble myself and put you in the highest place - above the abilities and strengths inside of me. I recognize my need for you and declare with humility that apart from you blessed Father, Lord Jesus, and Holy Spirit; I can do nothing. I turn away from the systems of this world that would compete for first place and dictate how to operate. You said in Your Word that we are to be in this world but not of it - so I sever all ties to the wisdom of this world with the Sword of the Lord and apply the blood of Jesus to this faulty and anti-Christ system. I set myself to honor Your Word and choose the wisdom of Heaven for all my business-related actions. I repent and turn away from the idolatry and gods of this world - social media, fear, and Mammon - that dictate how my business will flourish. I declare that my success is not tied to algorithms or systems of this world. I align my soul and spirit to the spirit of God, and I thank you that in James You say that if anyone lacks wisdom, you will give it generously when we ask. So, Father, I ask for fresh wisdom from Heaven and thank you that in John 3:27 you say that a man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven, so I open my hands, soul, and spirit to receive this perfect gift from above. Father, I thank you and ask for a fresh strategy from your kingdom and government to operate with success, love, and productivity. Thank you, Father, that you provide my every need. I declare that I turn from my abilities to you as my Provider. I humble myself and ask for your forgiveness for where I have set myself above you as the provider. I turn to you Jehovah Jireh and give you first place and remove all confidence of my flesh and submit to and trust you. Great I AM; I invite you into the work I am about to set my hand to and ask humbly that I might partner with what you are speaking and doing. I talk to my ears to be open to hearing the still small voice. I speak to my mind to be submitted to my spirit, and I speak to my spirit that it would be submitted to the Spirit of the Living God. In the power, the Name, and the blood of Jesus, I decree a matrix of protection overall technology and tools or myself and those I am interacting with. No weapon formed against me will prosper, and no satanic agenda will succeed. I thank you, Father, for the honor of being called Your own and that I am seated with You in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus where I rest in the authority that You have given me through your precious blood Lord Jesus. God, may you sent your angels in my favor that will secure Kingdom opportunities and divine appointments that will further multiply my purpose to expand the kingdom of God on the earth with the business I am about to engage in. Lord, in all that I do, may your name be glorified and exalted. May I be a conduit of your Kingdom and win souls for your name. I clothe myself in love and ask that you would bless the work of my hands. Thank you for prophetic insight for how to operate, who to reach out to, and be a voice and instrument for your glory. I praise you for the opportunity to love and serve others and thank you for your favor and open doors. You are my Great Reward, and I set myself to honor you as I work in this world on behalf of Your Kingdom. I love you, sweet Father, and thank You for calling me your own. Thank you for giving me your name, (Insert Your First Name) Bat/Ben Yahweh. In You, I live and move and have my being. I seal all of these things with the blood of Jesus and praise you because if God is for me, who can be against me. Amen. #GainConfidence

  • The 3 Benefits of Mixing Faith and Entrepreneurship

How do faith and entrepreneurship mix? Christian or not, I'm sure every successful entrepreneur would say, "you gotta have faith in your product or service for it to succeed." However, is this the same type of faith we learn about in the Bible?  And how can we take our entrepreneurial faith walk more seriously so that we can reap the full benefits of a faith-filled mindset? I used to stress out about thinking of innovative ideas, launching new products, and attracting new clients. The stress would keep me up at night, stating at the ceiling, wondering if I'm good enough to succeed. This stress would take a toll on my relationships with everyone. My wife would see me working too much. My child would see me leaving home early and coming back late. My employees would hear from me less. And my relationship with God would take a lesser role. But over the last two years, I've been working on my FAITH walk. I'm not talking about my faith in Christianity. I'm talking about my faith that God will provide. Faith, as a Christian entrepreneur goes beyond our declaration that we believe in God, go to church and participate in Bible studies. Faith as an entrepreneur is 100% confidence that, when you're in your calling, God will provide.  Faith changes our language from "hoping" something will happen to expect it to happen. Faith is the gift that keeps on giving us business owners the fuel to keep on pursuing our purpose.  Since we're always taking risks by starting businesses, hiring new people, and launching new campaigns, faith-filled entrepreneurs don't hope their actions will deliver results; they KNOW God will provide. However, faith is also a hard mindset for us to understand and a challenge for us to take advantage of fully. We like results we can see, touch, and experience immediately. We like money in the bank that we can store up for a rainy day. But we're not sure how to manage a gift we can't take inventory of, yet we have an endless supply of it. The issue isn't if we have faith or not, the issue is that we miss it's deep significance and tremendous advantages in our business as we either ignore it or take it for granted.  Faith becomes an assumed quality of being Christian and starts to blend into the normal routine of our business day and we can no longer tell it's there. We have it as a card we pull out of our pocket only when circumstances call for it. A great source to go to when we want to understand faith more is the book of Hebrews.  Paul the Apostle wrote: "THE FUNDAMENTAL FACT OF EXISTENCE IS THAT THIS TRUST IN GOD, THIS FAITH, IS THE FIRM FOUNDATION UNDER EVERYTHING THAT MAKES LIFE WORTH LIVING. IT’S OUR HANDLE ON WHAT WE CAN’T SEE. THE ACT OF FAITH IS WHAT DISTINGUISHED OUR ANCESTORS, SET THEM ABOVE THE CROWD." (HEBREWS 11:1‭-‬2 MSG) From an entrepreneurial point of view, there are three golden nuggets to pull out of this verse that you may have never realized. 1) It's not worth owning a business if you don't have faith. You'll be a big stress ball if you're always doubting yourself or second-guessing your actions. Faith is the fun in owning a business because you get to experience God's provision day in and day out. 2) Faith is your handle on what you can't see from your business plans. You can only hope for what you can't see and touch. On the other hand, faith turns entrepreneurial expectation into a surefire substance. “Can't see” usually does not fit with return on investment. However, faith makes it so. Faith turns God’s promises for your business into tangible realities. Faith turns things of the unseen spiritual world into visible things in the business world. 3) Faith is an action of obedience for God-first business owners. All the famous characters of the Bible did things out of faith, taking risks in stepping into the unknown. This should sound like entrepreneurship to you. Like they did for their ancestors, your choices in business will unlock the full benefit the gift of faith God has given you. Faith is what brings your visions to life and is the testimony to all that you trust God in being first in your business. As you make your leadership decisions, the outcomes of your faith are put into motion. As Christian entrepreneurs, faith is our most potent tool, our biggest ally, and our competitive advantage. We don't wait around for faith to show up, hoping that, maybe this time, God will come through. We've missed the opportunity of faith if we live under this false perception. Faith as a business owner is the hope of our entrepreneurial spirit. If we don't use it, then that's a choice we've made. No circumstance, situation, or setting should be able to affect our faith. Faith in action is merely choosing to run our businesses, knowing God's got us covered. If we've uncovered our calling, then bringing it to life and telling the whole world can be a faith-filled pilgrimage where our businesses serve to sanctify us and draw us closer to God. Imagine if all of us Godpreneurs chose to have the kind of faith that turns hopes and dreams into realities we can experience today. Put your action into faith in your business today! #GainConfidence
