When I first started my company, I was passionate about helping people get their logos and websites done. I would sit with the client to come up with an excellent strategy, then sit with my team throughout the entire process to bring the vision to life.
I’ve also been gifted by God to speak into an entrepreneur’s lives prophetically. It’s almost like I have a direct download into what someone is born to do in business.
Although my passion for bringing things to life and my gift to know what God wants an entrepreneur to do are great things, it also hindered the growth of my company. You see, I’m also uniquely talented in creating systems and processes in business. I can see the entire process, put all the players to do their job, and project manages it flawlessly. I can then take that system and duplicate it well.
So my challenge has always been trying to balance my gifts, my talents, and my passions.
We all have gifts, passions, and expertise in business. The entire premise of ‘Born to Do’ exists in the convergence of the three areas described below. What we are ‘Born to Do’ is dictated by where the three areas overlap.
The Bible states,
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
(Philippians 4:8 NIV)
There’s a fantastic thing that happens when you uncover what you were ‘Born to Do’ and only operate from that place. What I was ‘Born to Do’ is to guide you to that place!
This is the formula for operating in your ‘Born to Do’ Identity:
- Businesses Passions come from your heart and provide the energy you need to remain motivated.
- Operating in your business talents come naturally to you and produce a chemical in your brain that feels awesome!
- Using your spiritual gifts in business allows for supernatural things to happen in entrepreneurship because you’re tapping into God’s design for your products and services.
Imagine if we all operated our businesses more closely to what we were ‘Born to Do’?
All of us, Godpreneurs, need to be 100% aware of our gifts, talents, and passions so as to do everything we can to continue to evaluate them, memorize them, and commit to operating from them.
When we do what we were born to do, then we will be the pure light of Christ in the marketplace, attracting opportunities to meet others and evangelize to them about the amazing God we serve that controls our business destiny and can help them too. That’s when business gets really meaningful!
