  • Networking Is Dead - Christian Entrepreneur Do This Instead

If there was a personal silver lining around this whole pandemic is that I didn't have to go out to participate in networking events anymore! I've always felt uncomfortable with the idea of trying to meet people for the sole purpose of personal gain. Still, I’ve reluctantly believed that I was missing out on opportunities to meet my 'big' client if I wasn't doing it. Truthfully, networking actually makes me feel dirty. Then there's the pressure to drink alcohol as some social lubricant to get conversations going, and now I'm in the zone of moral impurity. So, I avoid networking events like the plague. The world of business wants us to define success through the network we develop - the more relationships we can form, the more chances we have for personal advancement. There are entire books and podcasts dedicated to the art of growing our network. As students at Cornell, we were lectured about networking in almost every business class. Then, we come out and got sales or business development jobs, and we were taught to race to one more boring party, so we can be seen and shake hands with someone that might be able to help us. It just doesn't feel right. And networking on LinkedIn feels just as inauthentic. Inboxes are crowded with random people trying to seem personable, but we know they are trying to sell something. It shouldn’t have to be this way. There are serious problems with networking as a primary path to success - the biggest one being that networking kills authentic relationships. For Christian entrepreneurs, networking contradicts the nature of God that is being cultivated within us. God's identity is centered on love. God gave sacrificially and generously, not for His own benefit. Of course, we need to meet more people, make new connections, and develop relationships with others to succeed. Churches grow through new relationship building and collaboration, and so do businesses. The network of people around us is important in every area of success for an entrepreneur. What is the Christian entrepreneur's solution to finding success without relegating to inauthentic networking tactics? The Bible says Whoever wants to be great (or a leader) must become a servant (Matthew 20:20-24) Jesus was saying this to a mother that had come to "network" with Jesus. She asked Jesus to make it so that her two sons would sit at his left and right hand. (This sounds a lot like going to networking events asking for business). So, Jesus responded by essentially saying that if you want the "sale," you have to serve. If you want to succeed in business, you must learn that serving is not only the “path” to success; it is success in itself. All of us Christian entrepreneurs have a tremendous opportunity to serve like nobody else. Jesus' success was because he came to serve, not to be served. The same formula for greatness is available to us too! Reflection How do YOU feel about the pressure always to be building your professional networking skills? What's your take on networking through social media to achieve some level of success? How do you resonate with Jesus' description of the mother of the path to success and greatness in life? How does Jesus' instruction compare with what culture, media, and business teach about finding success through networking? To read more articles about sales, click here. #MakingMoreSales

  • God's Formula for Finding Your "Niche" and Making More Sales

When I started my blog, Daily Godpreneur, in 2014, I targeted Christian business owners. It has been a joy to create free content and offer free advice because God equipped me with the gift of teaching entrepreneurship through the Bible. My tribe has been growing every year. When I started my branding agency in 2005, I served the nightclub industry. I was tremendously successful because I was the only guy blogging and creating free content for nightclub marketers to help them succeed in their jobs. I even got invited every year to speak at the Bar and Nightclub Convention in Las Vegas. (P.S. once I found Christ, I dropped the nightlife). My point is that picking a niche to serve gave me purpose and direction, which gave me the energy to serve them, day in and day out. Many of us are searching for the perfect niche to step into so we can feel this purpose and build a purpose-focused agency. We know that the riches are in the niches, and we want to experience the freedoms that come with having more cash flowing through us. Some niches seem boring. Other niches seem out of reach. The niche we really want might seem too small to fathom how it could provide the income level we're seeking. However, the trick isn't to focus on external circumstances like money or notoriety. We have to get a fresh vision and purpose for the niche we decide on. We must see this first niche (and every niche) as a marketplace to serve others. Niching is not a place for you to get your emotional needs met - God is supposed to meet 100% of our emotional needs. The Bible says "You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love." (Galatians 5:13 NIV) Instead of asking what niche "feels" good, God wants to focus on humbly serving others. To fully embrace this "serving" mindset, you first have to decide on a niche that will show the best of you. When deciding on a niche to serve, ask yourself, "where is a place that is filled with people that need me and need my gifts." When you are doing this, you allow for the Holy Spirit to speak into your heart. What's the first thought that comes to mind? Which one makes sense? Then step into that place, desiring to bring life and joy to prospects and clients! When you obey the still small voice, you will have a true purpose that enables you to get the energy you need to serve freely. My niche is helping Christian entrepreneurs (Godpreneurs) gain Biblical wisdom for running their businesses by the book. But it wasn't always like this. I was lost for many years, never picking a niche; however, I knew God wanted me to pour into other God-first entrepreneurs about the importance of finding your calling and branding your company around that. But it wasn't until I removed the emotion and focused on what "made sense" that I started to step into my niche. We Godpreneurs must remember that there is no dream niche because God can always change a niche. Instead, the act of serving makes us feel like we're dreaming because it gives us purpose and contentment. When you're in your niche, even the most difficult level of serving (blogging and live speaking engagements) feels like a dream. We'll talk about that in a future blog post. Now, let's begin to serve our niche so we can find our purpose. Reflection Where do you need to get a fresh vision for serving a niche to find personal contentment and purpose? By faith, begin to see your ability to change the world and leave a mark—one person at a time. Identify one or two clients or prospects in your business that brings you the most joy, regardless of the amount of money they pay. That's a clue of the niche you need to serve. • How Christian-Owned Agencies Profit by Offering Free Strategy Sessions to Prospects

Today, I want to show you how serving is the best marketing plan for your agency. So many times in our business, we want to get paid before services are rendered. We need a deposit before work can begin. We need to sell a consulting session to get an hour of our time. We have to get the client to buy a coaching package before we can pour out our ideas. However, I have found that my business's best marketing plan came through genuine care, generosity, and love I pour out to an entrepreneur through a discovery call and an audit of their business idea. I have a process where people can schedule a 15-minute discovery call with me. I also have a free brand audit and free marketing strategy I offer to people. This time allows me to hear the person out and offer valuable insight. It's just enough time for me to share my belief that the best businesses are where the entrepreneur feels called and purposed to do it by God. I believe that when we "Purpose Finders" build relationships on the theme of genuinely guiding someone to their calling—with no strings attached—we open up a stream of a provision that flows from all directions. The person we talk to may not buy from us, but God comes and blesses us with a different client. The Bible says Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.” (2 Corinthians 9:6‭-‬9 NIV) Serving attracts God's generosity. This is why setting up FREE discovery calls, brand audits, and marketing strategy sessions have the effect of attracting new opportunities. Serving other entrepreneurs with your God-given gifts and talents puts your heart in a state of giving; therefore, you reap generously. Conversely, strictly looking to get paid for your time, holds your seeds back, thus repels. When we give freely to people, regardless if they can afford it or not, God watches and rewards us. We Godpreneurs are called to give freely. When we pour into others first, God sees our heart and can turn that person into our best client if it's His will! It is a spiritual principle God uses to build entire businesses upon! Imagine if we were all proposing to plant and harvest by serving up one-on-one discovery calls and brand audits. It is how we manifest provision for ourselves and our businesses. Reflection Do you have faith in God's promise to provide for your business as you serve and plant vision into the lives of other entrepreneurs? What do you feel about spending time and/or resources building relationships in your business with no strings attached? • How Brand Strategists Attract New Business, God's Way

Today, I want to talk about making yourself more available…. rather than more visible. As brand strategists, we sometimes fall into the trap of believing that power and authority come from appearing "omnipresent" across a variety of channels and mediums. We think, "If I had a podcast, YouTube, radio show, magazine, TikTok, and courses, I'd get more people because I'm all over the place." We live in a society where appearing to be everywhere can make us more famous, but what value are we really creating? And because we consult clients about making themselves more visible with a beautiful website and matching social media presence, it's easy for us to focus on our visibility as the building blocks to attracting new clients. What I have discovered over my years of building up my own brand and visibility is that the #1 tool to attract new clients to myself AND feeling good about my purpose in life is to make myself as available as possible wherever I go. I went to an entrepreneur event in Washington, D.C., with thousands of other business owners. I took tons of business cards, connected with others at all the networking events, and attended the dinners. After 2 days, I still didn't have any solid leads to bring back to my agency. Then on day 3, I sat next to someone on the bus to an event, and we had an authentic conversation about his brand. I started to provide him free direction on his brand and advice for his business growth. And what if I told you that this guy was the only client I pulled from the entire event. We brand strategists miss so many opportunities to love and serve others because we focus only on ourselves, our own needs, agency growth, and not the needs, brokenness, and businesses of those with whom God brings near us every day. We try to make ourselves visible, but God wants us to make ourselves available. Jesus says For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” (Luke 14:11 NIV) True branding is about letting the value you provide exalt you to the point where someone wants to approach you to help guide them. Your service to others creates value for you and others. When you're at birthday parties, networking events, friends get-togethers, or playing golf with new people, look for opportunities to ask the same discovery questions you'd ask a paying client. Ask them what they do, what they love to do, and their future hopes and dreams. Then let the conversation flow. You'll be amazed at what gold this provides for you when you invest and pour into others. We have been given a gift from God to help others find their calling and purpose in life. There's a world that's lost, searching, and hungry to know what on earth they are here for. We were the ones called to do this. God wants us to develop a servant's mindset, not a serve-me attitude. We must first desire to want to be used by God wherever, whenever, regardless of an exchange of money or value. When we choose to make ourselves more available for God's work, He makes us more visible to others. When we faithfully step into this role, we begin to attract the clients God wants us to work with, and these clients will help our businesses grow. Reflection Are you a person who gives freely, or do you always expect an exchange of monetary value? Consider an example where building an authentic relationship was the more desirable and satisfying approach. • More Money, More Happy

At the time of writing this post, I’m not rich. I’m not wealthy. I still haven’t made my first million dollars in 1 calendar year. But I want to…badly! Wait… All the signs are telling me that having more money brings more problems. The Bible warns me of the love of money. The wealthy call money a curse. The movies I watch of the rich and famous always end up in depression and suicide. Why the heck, then, would I want more money??!! Why do we Godpreneurs think that having more money will satisfy us more? Why do we consider the more revenue our business generates, the happier we’ll get? Why do we feel the more profits we have, the more peace we will have and the simpler our business life will become? Although I haven’t made millions, I’ve had times in my business where money was abundant. I remember that with more money, I hired more people, worked with more vendors, and took more risks. The truth is that an increase in money in my business actually increased stress, not satisfaction! The bible says: "He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity. When goods increase, they increase who eat them, and what advantage has their owner but to see them with his eyes? Sweet is the sleep of a laborer, whether he eats little or much, but the full stomach of the rich will not let him sleep."(Ecclesiastes 5:10‭-‬12 ESV) The most successful business owners you know will all concur – After you meet your basic needs (food, shelter, clothing, paying rent, car, etc.) are met, more money and more stuff only bring more stress. As a Christian and an entrepreneur, you know this deep down inside, but for some reason, you don’t act on it. You chase after more contracts, bigger deals, a cooler office space, a big TV for the break room, and other material possessions. You think these things will bring satisfaction like they will prove your business success. Listen Godpreneurs: the marketplace will pressure us to buy more, hire more, and grow bigger every day. And let’s be honest, our flesh LOVES the fix these riches temporarily bring…and the enemy loves this money-high too! The enemy wants nothing more than to distract us from the entire point of entrepreneurship and the reason God’s even entrusting us with businesses – to serve others while doing what we’re born to do. Only Jesus will truly satisfy. It’s not that we need more money to justify our success, it’s that we need more Jesus to satisfy our hearts. Imagine if all of us Godpreneurs acted according to this truth! Jesus gives us the strength actually to live out of this truth. We Godpreneurs will accomplish our visions through Christ who strengthens us. Godpreneur Rule: Godpreneurs align our business lives to the truth that money doesn’t satisfy us, knowing more of Christ does! Father, be my strength so I will apply this truth in all the business decisions I make moving forward. #BusinessBibleStudy #MakeMoreMoney #StrengthenIntegrity 5 Lies of Money and Business Instead of reading the blog posts, take the video course!  I personally teach you the method.  You get: Workbook 5-Video Teachings Access to dozens of courses in the Godpreneur Academy! • Distraction-Free Godpreneurs – Part 1: It’s All Around Us

I’m a serial entrepreneur. I love starting my businesses, launching new products, and initiating new marketing campaigns. And there’s no shortage of opportunities coming to me from every angle. Since I own a branding and marketing agency, I get other entrepreneurs asking me all the time to partner with them (in hopes of a discount – which I respectfully decline). But I’ve learned that distraction is the enemy in disguise trying to pull me from my calling. I’ve come to realize that the devil doesn’t want me to live in my calling. I’ve been the victim of a divided mind, and I’ve learned how to fight back. We Godpreneurs have it harder than everyone else starting businesses because the enemy doesn’t want us in our calling! So we need a lesson on running Distraction-Free businesses. Look, God made us to be visionary people. If there were a little comic strip bubble that popped over our heads while we were sitting at church or walking in the park, people would read things like I don’t think I’m in the right business There’s no possible way I can do that business I’m a total fake, I make it seem like I’m successful, but I’m not I start new projects because I’m not fulfilled I don’t believe my new service is all that great Whats going to make me 1 Million dollars? It’s comforting to know we haven’t reached the point (yet) where people can read our thoughts as entrepreneurs! We Entrepreneurs struggle with following our calling and staying in our purpose and gifting, and Christian entrepreneurs are no exception. We all struggle with cheating on our calling to some degree. And that’s what it feels like sometimes – cheating! You or another entrepreneur friend of yours is cheating on his or her calling right now, and help is needed. You Started reading this because you too are distracted in business. Let me ask you, first: Do you want to run a Distraction-Free business? Is it possible to stay in your calling all the time? What do you think God thinks of you when you’re NOT living the purpose He crafted you especially for? If it’s possible, how do you live Distraction-Free and stay within your purpose and calling? These answers will come from your heart. This post or any book won’t make you “want to” stop cheating on your calling or any other biblical business principles for that matter. My courses might help, they may motivate, and they might give you a better understanding of some things, but they won’t walk through the door for you. You have to want to live distraction free. The bible says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight". (Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 NIV) We Godpreneurs must fight to guide our products and services in the direction God has called us, even when we’re tempted to do something else. We need to start with our desire to follow God and trust Jesus’s message to us. We need to start with our thirst to know Jesus more. See, Jesus lived distraction Free. He had one goal: redemption and restoration. When we desire to get to know Jesus more, we are surrounding ourselves with the ultimate distraction Free example we Godpreneurs could emulate. Only if we desire to follow God’s Calling for us will we have any hope of choosing the right businesses, joint ventures, products, and services. We will get detailed with thoughts, even the most focused get distracted at times. But if you don’t desire to uncover and live out God’s Calling on your business life, then the rest of this teaching series won’t matter. So, should you quit now if you don’t feel that desire and passion for following your purpose in business? Absolutely not. Maybe it was this exact plan that God inspired me to create that will turn your curiosity into action. I pray that completing this series will help change many of our hearts to see the value of honoring God and experiencing purity in our calling. I pray this revolution of the mind to begin to transform our hearts so that marketplaces worldwide are impacted. We all need to start this revolution because the world needs us to accomplish our purpose here. Without the desire, long-term success may elude us and, ultimately, leave us feeling meaningless and our businesses struggling to get by. #BusinessBibleStudy #FindMyCalling

  • Distraction-Free Godpreneurs – Part 2: Walk in Spirit

Is it even possible for me to run a Distraction-Free business? Is it realistic that I can stay on the path of my calling 100% of the time? If I don’t believe this to be true, then I’ll lose the distraction battle. Yes, a lot of times I feel overpowered and overwhelmed by the temptation to take power into my own hands and start something new, but God’s Word reminds me that Yes, I can live Distraction-Free. Paul wrote in Galatians: "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh". (Galatians 5:16 NIV) Paul doesn’t say it will be without slip-ups, easy, or automatic, but the Bible does say “It is possible!” So how do we walk in the spirit? What do we need to know and do? What do I do when a seemingly “god” idea confronts me and tempts me off my path? Before we answer that, we have to confront a deeper issue: your current situation might be holding you back. Right now you might be in a business that’s distracting you. You might be heavily invested in something that you know isn’t your calling. And that’s OK! Yes, it’s fine. God’s going to use that for your good! Why? Because we are God’s adopted children. He knows the temptation is around. He knows the devil roams around like a lion, ready to devour our dreams and visions. And because God knows this, He sent Jesus as our hope for overcoming these battles. The bible says: "In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory". (Ephesians 1:11‭-‬12 NIV) It’s very important you don’t miss this. First, we must put our hopes in Christ Jesus. It’s not that we need to stop being distracted, it’s that we need to focus more on Jesus. When we do this, we will come to realize more and more how important it is only to do your calling and only to fulfill your purpose. By focusing on Jesus, you’re putting up blinders that prevent the temptation from coming across your desk. It’s incredible that in the middle of our own temptation, God gives way out and into His path for us: Jesus. #BusinessBibleStudy #EnhanceFocus

  • Distraction-Free Godpreneurs – Part 3: How to Experience Pure Focus All The Time (without medi

How can I experience one full distraction-free day? Is it possible that, just for one day of my life, I can be so focused on my calling and so in tune with my purpose to block out everything around me? Well, it depends… Let me explain. See, we are BORN to be distracted. If we look back at history, to the first humans, we’ll see that distraction is actually in our DNA. The history of both distraction-free living and cheating on our calling begins with God’s creation of man that we see in Genesis. At first, God had Adam totally focused on tasks. Then he brought in Eve to help out and continue to accomplish a purpose. Nothing was interfering with their calling, and they were living meaningful lives together, sharing closeness with God. Could you imagine literally having the whole world and everything in it, and your only job was to fill it? The bible says: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” (Genesis 1:1‭, ‬28 NIV) Then, within that calling, God gave them a specific venture. God said, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” (Genesis 2:15). All is good….until DISTRACTION came into the picture. This original distraction came into the picture and changed us all forever. Because of chapter 3 of Genesis, my entrepreneurship carries a mark from those first 2 humans. They were distracted, they disobeyed (sinned) by eating that apple from the one thing they were forbidden to do. Ever since all of us have sin inside and we have “the flesh,” which is always wanting to do its own thing and be distracted! And all of us are now prone to division, resistance to our calling, and distraction from our purpose. Becoming a Christian Entrepreneur doesn’t eliminate distraction and the tendencies we have to sin and to our own thing. In fact, I think we’re even more distracted because the enemy sees our callings as more powerful! But being a Godpreneur DOES mean that we can overcome this temptation to be distracted! We have Christ who gave us the Holy Spirit! The bible says: "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law". (Galatians 5:16‭-‬18 NIV) When I first started thinking about eliminating distractions in my life, I started to think about all the things I need to avoid, the products I need to discontinue, and the people I need to let go of. But that’s not “living in the spirit.” As crucial as it is for me to let go of things, I believe it’s more important to walk in the spirit than to waste energy on avoiding distractions. See, by walking in the spirit, you don’t have room for distraction. It’s putting blinders to everything around you that’s demanding your attention. Walking in the spirit is a total devotion. It’s running a God-First Business. Godpreneur Rule: Walking in the spirit is the way out of distraction. It’s distraction-free Godpreneurship. #BusinessBibleStudy #FindMyCalling

  • Overcoming Obstacles to Launching Your Idea – Step 1: The Miracle Waiting to Happen

From the first day I launched my business in 2005, I wasn’t afraid of taking risks. I left a well-paying job to pursue the dream of working for myself. And as the company grew, I continued to invest money into new ideas and ventures to further the expansion of the company. Launching businesses has become a way of life for me. It’s why I speak about it a lot in my writings. The dictionary defines an entrepreneur as “a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks to do so.” The words “taking on a greater than normal financial risk” stands out to me the most here. As I study the Bible to uncover as much as I can about the stories and how they relate to entrepreneurship, I can’t help but see that Jesus also sought for his disciples to take risks if they were going to be involved in his Kingdom work. I’ve written extensively on all types of training for business, but the one I focus on the most is how Jesus calls a chosen group of us to be Godpreneurs and experience His supernatural power through business ownership. This begins by taking the first step of accepting the call to launch what we were born to do. Jesus took the first step by launching his ministry; THEN, he called his disciples to follow him so they could eventually do the same. We Godpreneurs have been invited on a journey to follow Jesus’s same footsteps of stepping out into unchartered territory, in faith, to do what God created us to do. No story of the Bible better illustrates this calling into the unknown like the story of Peter trying to walk on water. We’re not surprised that Jesus walks on water, but we’re drawn to Peter’s boldness of stepping into the unknown. And although Peter begins to sink in the water after the winds and waves overcome his mindset, we entrepreneurs should be encouraged and challenged by this. In my book, A Godpreneur’s Guide to Preparing to Launch Your Business, I want to parallel our calling as Godpreneurs to join Jesus in the miracles and wonders that await for us to experience as business owners in the Kingdom of God. But before Jesus asked Peter to step out of the boat and walk on water, the disciples had just finished experiencing the miracle of feeding 5000 people with only a few fish and loaves of bread. This is significant because, although Jesus was the source of the miracle, it was the disciples that passed out the bottomless baskets of food. Jesus worked THROUGH the disciples to show the miracle. The bible says: Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children (Matthew 14:19‭-‬21 NKJV) In the same way, you’ve already experienced Jesus working through you in some way, shape, or form. If you think hard enough, you’ll remember a time when something happened in school, work, or even a past entrepreneurial venture that was nothing short of a miracle. Remember that as you journey into launching your business. You’ll need that anchor as the confidence to know that if Jesus did it once, He can do it again. Jesus wants to use us Godpreneurs to be able to bring miraculous new products and services into the marketplace. The miracle of Godpreneurship is in each of our hands. Accepting that truth will make us supernatural entrepreneurs. #BusinessBibleStudy #LaunchingMyIdea Overcoming Obstacles to Launching Your Idea Join Us on a 12-Days Business Bible Plan to learn Overcoming Obstacles to Launching Your Idea. • Overcoming Obstacles to Launching Your Idea – Step 2: Words of Assurance

Maybe you don’t know this yet about me, but I started a non-profit back in 2009 after my brother, Jose, passed away. We created a scholarship fund for health students wanting to go on their first medical mission trip. I go on these trips too, even though I’m not medical. I’m the “business” side of things. I help set the vision, coordinate with locals to see more patients, forge new partnerships, and lead the company in our fundraising campaigns. While on one of my missions to the Dominican Republic, a lady pulled me aside because she said she had a word for me. She started speaking in tongues, her eyes closed, she placed her hand on me and raised her voice even more. Needless to say, I was pretty “weirded” out but the experience. After the prayer that I couldn’t understand, she then told me that God has a great vision for us in her country, and He had selected me to bring it to life. She started prophetically speaking into my life and told me not to be afraid that God has my back. What she didn’t know was around that time, I was questioning whether to continue these trips. They are a lot of hard work, months of planning, and took away resources from me building my other companies. I was even considering pausing the non-profit until my other ventures were more stable. The message from the woman, as weird as it was delivered, was what I needed to launch my non-profit into a whole new season of growth and expansion. I had never experienced something supernatural like this before – People speaking in tongues and prophesying into my life. It was the first time I experienced what I usually saw on YouTube. It was weird. It was uncomfortable. But it felt so real, so amazing, so in tune with what I needed to hear at that exact time. We Godpreneurs are in a unique place to see and receive supernatural things like this happening in and around our businesses. But if we’re honest with each other, it’s all a bit “weird.” We think that this stuff is for phony preachers at those extreme charismatic churches that operate in the supernatural. But we see God working in “weird” ways thought out the Bible, why can’t He do it now? Is the supernatural weird, or is our fear towards it misaligned? How can we change our attitudes to be more open to seeing and experiencing the supernatural in our businesses? It’s happening all around us, especially when we’re stuck, questioning, and in need of immediate answers. In the story of Peter walking on water, the disciples had also experienced something that would have freaked anyone out. The bible says: Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. (Matthew 14:22‭-‬26 NKJV) Jesus first appeared to them like a ghost, walking on water. They were afraid and freaked out. We would all be! During a storm that could have very well taken their lives any moment, Jesus shows up, FREAKING them out, then Jesus immediately said to the twelve, “’Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid’” (verse 27). If you were honest, supernatural things sometimes seem out of place when it comes to launching your business ideas. But your ideas are an extension of your calling; therefore, God can work in it too. If something “weird” happens while taking your ideas to the next level, something out of the ordinary, and borderline a miracle, don’t be afraid to give the credit to God. Just because you’ve never experienced it before doesn’t mean God isn’t going to start now. It’s easy to be critical of others who live and breathe in the supernatural, but I believe you and I were all called to live in this higher place of understanding. When God shows up in your business visions in a way you’ve never seen before, don’t be disturbed. Immediately thank God, journal about the experience, and wait for more! We can’t think for a second that we’ve seen all we’re going to see of God in our lives. We can’t limit the way God can show up and breathe life into our businesses and ideas. God won’t leave us second guessing whether He’s trying to send us a message. It will always be accompanied by assurance that will give us comfort. God’s going to come close to us as we get closer to launching the business He created us for. We Godpreneurs shouldn’t be afraid. We should EXPECT it. After all, we are launching a business for God. #BusinessBibleStudy #LaunchingMyBusiness Overcoming Obstacles to Launching Your Idea Join Us on a 12-Days Business Bible Plan to learn Overcoming Obstacles to Launching Your Idea. • Overcoming Obstacles to Launching Your Idea – Step 3: You’re Invited

There have been several “storms” in my business where I had to make a big decision of whether I was going to risk it all to follow what I knew God wanted me to do, or what was comfortable and secure for my mind. In 2014, the choice was to keep all my current Nightlife clients and continue on my trajectory of building a multi-million dollar agency or let the Nightlife go to rebuild in a whole new industry. In 2016, a potential lawsuit left me having to choose to shut down my ten-year-old company or start a new one with an entirely new process of how my agency was going to run. In 2018, an opportunity to launch a membership platform for Christian Entrepreneurs left me choosing between that and another membership brand I was building. In every case, a violent storm was raging on in and around me. I knew God was inviting me to new areas, but they were risky because they were new ideas. We entrepreneurs, by definition, take risks. We see an opportunity, create a plan (sort of), and go after it. But when you’re forced to decide on one of life’s storms, taking that leap of faith isn’t so easy. How can we hear Jesus’s invitation to TAKE A RISK, and respond to the invitation, even when we’d be lost and relying 100% on faith? That’s a great question. That’s the question that breaks the chains and will help launch the business God created us to do. In the Bible, Peter was in a similar situation on the Sea of Galilee. There was a storm raging, Jesus appears like a ghost, all the disciples are confused and scared for their life, and Jesus says one word that should give us confidence in our launches. The bible says Meanwhile, the boat was far out to sea when the wind came up against them and they were battered by the waves. At about four o’clock in the morning, Jesus came toward them walking on the water. They were scared out of their wits. “A ghost!” they said, crying out in terror. But Jesus was quick to comfort them. “Courage, it’s me. Don’t be afraid.” Peter, suddenly bold, said, “Master, if it’s really you, call me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come ahead.” Jumping out of the boat, Peter walked on the water to Jesus. (Matthew 14:24‭-‬30 MSG) Jesus says, “Come.” You’re invited to step out into the unknown of business and walk on water, too! Launching a business is a miracle! One day it’s a vision, the next day it’s alive. It didn’t happen by accident. You’re responding to a calling to “Come” and bring God’s vision for you to life. The vision God gives you for your business is an invitation to step into the impossible. And if you don’t think it’s impossible, then the vision isn’t big enough, or it might be the wrong calling altogether. Peter was invited to step into the water and walk on it and experience supernatural living in Christ, and I believe we Godpreneurs all have the same invitation. As for me, I chose the risky roads, relying on the grace of God to carry me, and it made all the difference. Each time I was called to step out into the unknown, I was rewarded with a new profitable business that propelled my visions forward. What if we don’t step out and launch that business? I believe this would prevent us from following Jesus fully and experiencing the miracles that are owning a business can show us. Two things will prevent us from launching. Our minds – we need to understand everything before making a decision, delaying us from taking risks Our hearts – we were hurt from past experiences and fear is holding us back from taking more risks We entrepreneurs want to remain in control, but being a Godpreneur means we step out in faith into the seemingly impossible. Imagine if all of us were running businesses fueled by faith so strong, we purpose to boldly go into new places to continuing experiencing the supernatural MORE God has for us! Godpreneur Rule – Godpreneurs hear Jesus’ invitation to launch and learn how to overcome whatever storms we have in your own business lives. #BusinessBibleStudy #LaunchingMyBusiness Overcoming Obstacles to Launching Your Idea Join Us on a 12-Days Business Bible Plan to learn Overcoming Obstacles to Launching Your Idea. • Overcoming Obstacles to Launching Your Idea – Step 4: Throw Out Logic

As an ivy league business graduate from Cornell University, I didn’t take the “spiritual” stuff seriously in my 20s. My love for mathematics and chess made me someone that needed logic and reasoning to make my move. I’ll admit that I still struggle sometimes to grasp that God can work in supernatural, miraculous ways. It was difficult for me to develop a faith where I recognize that I have no control over the businesses I launch, only what’s going on inside of me. But seeing God work in amazing and wondrous ways of being my visions to life has helped me to become more open to supernatural ways that think line themselves for me to succeed. I know I’m crazy about taking financial risks in starting a business, but am I? Or am I extra faithful? As entrepreneurs and owners of our businesses, it’s difficult for us “let go, and let God” because who the heck is going to start and run this business if we don’t?! But running our business and expecting a supernatural encounter with God are two different things. We must do both. How do we break down any walls that we’ve built up that don’t allow us to let God do what only He can do in making our dreams a reality? The answer is in the bible. The stories of the Bible are meant to show us that miracles do happen… Yesterday, today, and always. In the Bible, we read: When he finished teaching, he said to Simon, “Push out into deep water and let your nets out for a catch.” Simon said, “Master, we’ve been fishing hard all night and haven’t caught even a minnow. But if you say so, I’ll let out the nets.” It was no sooner said than done—a huge haul of fish, straining the nets past capacity. They waved to their partners in the other boat to come help them. They filled both boats, nearly swamping them with the catch. Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell to his knees before Jesus. “Master, leave. I’m a sinner and can’t handle this holiness. Leave me to myself.” When they pulled in that catch of fish, awe overwhelmed Simon and everyone with him. It was the same with James and John, Zebedee’s sons, coworkers with Simon. Jesus said to Simon, “There is nothing to fear. From now on you’ll be fishing for men and women.” They pulled their boats up on the beach, left them, nets and all, and followed him. (Luke 5:4‭-‬10‭, ‬10‭-‬11 MSG) You and I aren’t any different than Peter. Peter was an entrepreneur who, acting out of logic and past experiences, tells Jesus that there’s no way he was going to catch fish. The timing of the day was off, the tide wasn’t right, he was tired, the nets weren’t ready… and the excuses went on and on. But Jesus… Jesus had a different outcome for Peter. Luckily, Peter listened, the miracle occurred, a lesson was learned, and the entire church was built on the rock of Peter. Is Jesus telling you to launch that idea? Are you doubting and hesitating to cast out that net because logic doesn’t add up? You’ve been given the instructions, but you’re embarrassed, fearful of defeat, or too tired to give it another go? Like Peter, you probably have many flaws in business, but Jesus wants to work through your faith to show you that anything is possible with him and that he’s going to make your business idea shine bring for all to see. We Godpreneurs have a chance to get it right this time around. Maybe things in the past didn’t turn out the way we wanted, but when. We EXPECT the supernatural to happen in our business; God shows up. Everything in our experiences, logic, or reasoning might be screaming that we CAN’T launch this business, but Jesus has a different outcome. Imagine if we all trusted that God was going to do miraculous things if we picked our nets up and launched it out into the seas to begin receiving our catch. Amen! Godpreneur Rule – Godpreneurs listen to the little voice telling us that, with Jesus, everything in our business can turn around in a heartbeat. #BusinessBibleStudy #ArticulatingMyIdeas Overcoming Obstacles to Launching Your Idea Join Us on a 12-Days Business Bible Plan to learn Overcoming Obstacles to Launching Your Idea.
