- Overcoming Busyness in Business: Strategy 2 – Find Priority
One of my greatest struggles as an entrepreneur was creating the habit of getting up early every morning to spend time in meditation and prayer. Even though every success seminar and autobiography of the rich and famous Business gurus said that I must create this habit, I struggled. Could be that I went to sleep too late. Could be that I’m not a morning person. Could be that I worked so much into the early morning hours that I couldn’t get up. Could be that I would wake up, check my emails and see there was a fire I needed to put out. Could be that there was so much to do that day that I didn’t have time. Could be that I was just too darn busy. And if I could be honest with you, I feel very guilty about being so busy. My marriage has suffered greatly from it. We entrepreneurs have a lot going on in our minds and lives. Responsibility to pay bills, spend time with family, eat right, exercise, make sales, do marketing, bake cookies, hold the baby, watch CNBC, go on date nights, etc. etc. The problem isn’t the fact that I have a lot going on. Heck, that’s awesome! We should celebrate the fact that life is shaking and baking! Don’t be ashamed that you’re a work of art when it comes to efficiency and productivity. God has shown us what the real problem is. Remember the story of Martha and Mary when pays a visit. Martha is busy cleaning. Mary is eager to learn from Jesus. Martha’s an amazing worker. But Mary made Jesus a priority. The cleaning up could wait. Jesus says in Luke 10:42 "But few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” The truth is that hard work is one of your God-given functions and gifts in being a Godpreneur. You use the intellect and circumstances God has provided you with to lead your business. A bunch of Bible verses praise having a strong work ethic. Work or ambition in and of itself isn’t the problem. In Part 1 I reveal that the first way to solve Busyness is finding purpose, aligning your heart and motivation. Today we encounter that another major issue are our priorities. If our purpose is to serve God with our businesses but also make time with him our #1 priority, we’re on the right track. Imagine if we all developed the habit of waking up early and being still in God’s presence. Our CEO wants to meet with us daily. Let’s make showing up to this meeting our priority. #TimeManagement #SharpenLeadership

- Distraction-Free Godpreneurs – Part 2: Walk in Spirit
Is it even possible for me to run a Distraction-Free business? Is it realistic that I can stay on the path of my calling 100% of the time? If I don’t believe this to be true, then I’ll lose the distraction battle. Yes, a lot of times I feel overpowered and overwhelmed by the temptation to take power into my own hands and start something new, but God’s Word reminds me that Yes, I can live Distraction-Free. Paul wrote in Galatians: "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh". (Galatians 5:16 NIV) Paul doesn’t say it will be without slip-ups, easy, or automatic, but the Bible does say “It is possible!” So how do we walk in the spirit? What do we need to know and do? What do I do when a seemingly “god” idea confronts me and tempts me off my path? Before we answer that, we have to confront a deeper issue: your current situation might be holding you back. Right now you might be in a business that’s distracting you. You might be heavily invested in something that you know isn’t your calling. And that’s OK! Yes, it’s fine. God’s going to use that for your good! Why? Because we are God’s adopted children. He knows the temptation is around. He knows the devil roams around like a lion, ready to devour our dreams and visions. And because God knows this, He sent Jesus as our hope for overcoming these battles. The bible says: "In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory". (Ephesians 1:11-12 NIV) It’s very important you don’t miss this. First, we must put our hopes in Christ Jesus. It’s not that we need to stop being distracted, it’s that we need to focus more on Jesus. When we do this, we will come to realize more and more how important it is only to do your calling and only to fulfill your purpose. By focusing on Jesus, you’re putting up blinders that prevent the temptation from coming across your desk. It’s incredible that in the middle of our own temptation, God gives way out and into His path for us: Jesus. #BusinessBibleStudy #EnhanceFocus

- Uncertainty in Business? Find Peace by Trusting God More
When I read in the Bible about the "uncertain" times the people of God went through - every famine, every economic downtown, every plague, every disease - God sustained what they went through because they put their trust in him. When your trust is in the Lord, you and your business are secure. It's easy to trust God when everything is good, the client list is growing, employees are happy, and all is going according to plan in our business. Friends at church ask us, "how's business," and we jubilantly reply, "God is good, I’m just trusting the Lord, everything is amazing!" However, it's a whole different ballgame to trust God when things are not so good in our businesses. You see, to trust God along your entrepreneurial journey means you have to allow Him to do what He wants to do, even if He fails. But wait, God fails? That's the point - He’s God, and he doesn't fail. We must trust God enough to let Him succeed - on HIS terms and way. HIS time, not in my terms, way, or timing. To trust God in entrepreneurship is to say, “I´m going to let you do what you want to do through my business, Lord. I’m not going to argue with you, I’m not going to complain, I’m not going to resist your calling, I’m going to let you do what you know is best, and I’m not going to fear the outcome." We've heard Psalm 23 a hundred times, but we mostly associate it with a funeral. I want you to think about it now, as I read it, from your business struggles perspective. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not be in want." In other words, God will take care of all my needs if I'll just trust Him. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." It continues later in the passage, "and even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for you are with me." How many times have you felt like quitting your business? "God, you called me to this, I know, but this is hard! I'm almost out of funds, my entire 401K I've put into this venture! Why Lord do you have me in this toxic business partnership, Father? You called me to be a guide and light in my partner's life, but I'm feeling used and abused!" The Bible says it like this in 1st Peter 4, verse 12, it says "Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you." "In the world, you will have tribulation," that's John 16:33. However, 2nd Corinthians, chapter 4, verses 17 and 18, says this trouble in our business is temporary. The verse reads, "For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long." Listen, Godpreneurs, the struggle is not going to last. Our temporary and momentary financial fumble will not last. And if we switch our mindset to this kind of trust in God, this act of faith will achieve for us an eternal glory that far outweighs all the troubles combined. So, we focus NOT on what is seen (which are the problems in our business ventures), but on what is UNSEEN, for what is seen is temporary! What we see isn't going to last, so God is asking us to take the focus off our problems to focus on what is unseen, which is trusting in the calling He has for our entrepreneurial path, which is eternal. #EnhanceFocus

- 2 Powerful Things to Remember While Patiently Waiting on God in Your Business
Many times, in hindsight, you see more of the why behind the wait. I’m going to talk to somebody that's been waiting for a big contract to come through because right now you don’t see it, but years from now, you may look back and say, "oh wow, well, I'm glad I didn't get into that relationship." In the same way, God could be delaying the contract because the contract is about to get even more significant because of some unforeseen event. So I repeat - many times, in hindsight, you can see the why behind the wait. When we look back, we can see exactly why God waited for the perfect time. I've always rested in the thought that God's ways are still good for my business. Just because God felt silent at a time when I needed Him didn't mean He was absent. I've learned to recognize when I'm in a waiting season, and I remember that my God is working! Waiting with the Right Attitude I don’t know how long you've been waiting. I don't know how challenging your situation might be. And I don't know how much longer you'll have to endure your waiting season, but I do know that God will come through. I do know that you can enjoy your wait if you will just improve your attitude. The key is to do your part and wait with the right attitude. You can't stay upset and complain, “when is it ever going to happen?” No! Flip the script and say, “Father, thank you, that what you started in my business, you will finish. Thank you because the vision you gave me is on the way." If you wait with the right attitude, after patience has done its work in you, you’re going to see entrepreneurial promises come to pass. However, our go-getter nature sees waiting as unfavorable we don’t like it because nothing is happening. We’re interested in the destination, but God is interested in the journey. He’s working on us along the way. Us Bible-trained entrepreneurs already know that waiting doesn’t mean nothing is happening in our business. We've read the stories where waiting didn’t mean God had forgotten about his people. We see time and time again themes in the Bible where waiting is part of the process. God's Word shows us that we can stay in faith, knowing that at the right time, God will get us to where we’re supposed to be. David waited 13 years to take the throne after the prophet Samuel anointed him to be the next king. God could have taken him straight to the throne, but David wasn't ready. He had to go through a time of testing. During those 13 years, David faithfully took care of his father’s sheep. It seemed like a menial position for a guy that already knew he had bigger things in him - he heard the prophet say that he was a king. However, had David not passed the waiting time, he would have never made it to the throne. He had to show God he would take care of his earthly father’s sheep before God would trust him to take care of his heavenly father's sheep - the people of Israel. While you wait, doing the best you can where your business is right now, that's a time God is using to see if you’re ready. Something important to keep in mind is that if what you're praying about isn’t changing, then God is still using that situation to change you. Listen closely, you business leaders, you marketplace ministers: If a situation is not working out, then it’s working out something in you. All things in your business are working for your good. God is working in your life as a Godpreneur. I´m telling you, if you have prayed a prayer in faith for your company that is according to the will of God, then God is working. #WaitingOnGod
