  • A Prayer For Business

A little over a month ago, I was recovering from some mild burnout, and somewhere in there, the call in my spirit to change my approach to business came welling up out of me. Since then, I have been pursuing Kingdom engagement daily in my approach to everything I do at my desk. I somehow stumbled on a Daily Godpreneur Devotional Plan, and that is how my road here started. The prayer I wrote below is what I pray every time I sit down at my desk to work, ensuring all of me is aligned and submitted to hear God’s voice amid the goals, the customer reach-outs, the strategizing, team-leading, etc. You will notice a space for you to insert your name near the end, so when I say this for me, I say, Kelly Bat Yahweh, which means Kelly Daughter of Yahweh. If you are a male, you would say, Alex Ben Yahweh, for example. Be blessed today in whose you are and as you go about your work on behalf of His Kingdom. I invite you to pray this with me: Father, I come to you in the precious name of Your Son Jesus and thank you, Jesus, for your blood that allows me to come boldly before the Father’s Throne of Grace. Father, I thank you that you hear me and that I am welcomed. I thank you for making me in your image I and praise you for the purpose and destiny that You have imbedded in my DNA and my spirit; I call it forth now and choose to step into it at this moment. Father, I humble myself and put you in the highest place - above the abilities and strengths inside of me. I recognize my need for you and declare with humility that apart from you blessed Father, Lord Jesus, and Holy Spirit; I can do nothing. I turn away from the systems of this world that would compete for first place and dictate how to operate. You said in Your Word that we are to be in this world but not of it - so I sever all ties to the wisdom of this world with the Sword of the Lord and apply the blood of Jesus to this faulty and anti-Christ system. I set myself to honor Your Word and choose the wisdom of Heaven for all my business-related actions. I repent and turn away from the idolatry and gods of this world - social media, fear, and Mammon - that dictate how my business will flourish. I declare that my success is not tied to algorithms or systems of this world. I align my soul and spirit to the spirit of God, and I thank you that in James You say that if anyone lacks wisdom, you will give it generously when we ask. So, Father, I ask for fresh wisdom from Heaven and thank you that in John 3:27 you say that a man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven, so I open my hands, soul, and spirit to receive this perfect gift from above. Father, I thank you and ask for a fresh strategy from your kingdom and government to operate with success, love, and productivity. Thank you, Father, that you provide my every need. I declare that I turn from my abilities to you as my Provider. I humble myself and ask for your forgiveness for where I have set myself above you as the provider. I turn to you Jehovah Jireh and give you first place and remove all confidence of my flesh and submit to and trust you. Great I AM; I invite you into the work I am about to set my hand to and ask humbly that I might partner with what you are speaking and doing. I talk to my ears to be open to hearing the still small voice. I speak to my mind to be submitted to my spirit, and I speak to my spirit that it would be submitted to the Spirit of the Living God. In the power, the Name, and the blood of Jesus, I decree a matrix of protection overall technology and tools or myself and those I am interacting with. No weapon formed against me will prosper, and no satanic agenda will succeed. I thank you, Father, for the honor of being called Your own and that I am seated with You in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus where I rest in the authority that You have given me through your precious blood Lord Jesus. God, may you sent your angels in my favor that will secure Kingdom opportunities and divine appointments that will further multiply my purpose to expand the kingdom of God on the earth with the business I am about to engage in. Lord, in all that I do, may your name be glorified and exalted. May I be a conduit of your Kingdom and win souls for your name. I clothe myself in love and ask that you would bless the work of my hands. Thank you for prophetic insight for how to operate, who to reach out to, and be a voice and instrument for your glory. I praise you for the opportunity to love and serve others and thank you for your favor and open doors. You are my Great Reward, and I set myself to honor you as I work in this world on behalf of Your Kingdom. I love you, sweet Father, and thank You for calling me your own. Thank you for giving me your name, (Insert Your First Name) Bat/Ben Yahweh. In You, I live and move and have my being. I seal all of these things with the blood of Jesus and praise you because if God is for me, who can be against me. Amen. #GainConfidence

  • How Christian Entrepreneurs Launch a Business During a Crisis

My key to THRIVING during this pandemic was staying PRESENT in my work - my purpose and calling. God brought me clients that only came because they had time during the quarantine, assigned uniquely to me because I was qualified and in my zone of genius. As we all launch into this unknown and unchartered territory of reengaging in business post-quarantine, uncovering and launching the business God created us to do is of the highest importance. Our relationships with people, and the solutions our products and services provide, are of the utmost urgency! What if you don't know what to do? Pray. Your God is faithful even in the middle of disasters. He still speaks and directs your business dreams. Godpreneur, what is God asking you to launch in your present NOW. Not when the dust settles, and the economy improves, but TODAY. That "shoulda, woulda, coulda" feeling of that product or service... that's the work God wants you to LAUNCH NOW! It might not make sense, but that's what launching into the unknown with God is all about - faith. God hasn't changed His mind about your calling in business just because the world's future is uncertain. A calling from God isn't subject to the things of this world. Here are two important things to consider that will help you launch into the unknown during any crisis or challenge. Ask God to Do His Work Through You I was playing golf with my friend Julio, and he said something profound. He said, "God laughs at our plans." I stayed stuck on that thought. God would laugh either because our business plans are much smaller than what He has for us, or, our ideas are outrageously out of line with His calling for us. But what I couldn't stop thinking about was the fact that we have a plan, and then there is God's plan. We want God to revive our businesses. We've spent weeks in quarantine plotting our return to entrepreneurship; however, we likely prayed for God to restore OUR work, and maybe not HIS work. Leading a God-first business requires us to pray for a God-centered work to be done in the marketplace. It has very little to do with any of our abilities and all to do with work that only God can do. We become vessels willing to carry out the plan. An act of God will reveal your calling to respond. However, with the economy messed up, business revenue down, and our pausing on projects, our businesses could use some life, we might be tempted to ask God to revive some previous version of our business. We need to ask ourselves if asking for God to restore something WE want is in line with the NEW work HE might wish to do. The Bible says "Lord , I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord . Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy." (Habakkuk 3:2 NIV) A God-first business owner makes God-centered requests. God is the bigger picture behind business-ownership and entrepreneurship. He's the entire reason for the launch of the products and services, so it's Him that can do all the work! You might be tempted to ask God to revive YOUR previous business. Let me encourage you to pick your head up out of the weeds, look around, and see the BIGGER PICTURE. Entrepreneurship is not about what you want, it's about stewarding God's calling to accomplish His eternal work. Our place in God's plan, our mark on it—is our brand. This is what will give us our purpose and significance. The trick is to ask nothing of ourselves, but instead to let God move in and through our businesses in a fantastic way. Being a Daily Godpreneur is a way we seek His face so we can move into the unknown one day at a time. Successfully launching into the unknown with confidence and excitement requires us to fully embrace that God is the Creator and sustainer of every industry and marketplace. He is supreme, and whatever WE might want pales in comparison to what only HE can do. Imagine if all of us Godpreneurs had the perspective of asking God to do what only He can do. This is the HOPE needed to launch into the unknown successfully. Pray for God to revive HIS work in your business. Choose to Rejoice I'm an optimistic guy. I can find good in any situation. Throughout the pandemic, I didn't get any anxiety, stress, or depression, even though I had lost revenue. Instead, I praised God for the slow down in my life, for bringing me home to my family, and for letting me spend more time with my son. I chose to rejoice, even though everything was chaotic, and the economy was falling apart. When we face challenges in business, we can choose to let the fear overtake us, or we can choose to rejoice in God. It's this very attitude that we need to embrace to have the ENERGY we need to launch into the unknown. The Bible says "yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation." (Habakkuk 3:18) On the edge of the UNKNOWN that we all face as we re-launch, we Godpreneurs make the only choice that provides peace, freedom, and hope to those in need. We must choose to rejoice. But how will it be possible for us to rejoice when many of us get backed up on bills, business doors shut, and need to start over from scratch? How can we choose to celebrate instead of letting depression overtake us and become another victim of the circumstances, worrying ourselves, too sick to launch anything? The Bible says "Counting on God's Rule to prevail, I take heart and gain strength. I run like a deer. I feel like I'm king of the mountain!" (Habakkuk 3:19 MSG) For an entrepreneur, this means that God is the business plan, the execution strategy, and the leader through the storm. Putting God in charge of the business plan helps the entrepreneur keep launching into the unknown as if the victory has already happened. God will be the fuel your rocket needs to launch. If you trusted God in your business before, why wouldn't you believe it in the most uncertain of times? For the first time in history, all of humanity sits at the same playing field, holding on to hope day-by-day. Not even the smartest wall street people know what's coming for the economy. However, the promise of God is sure and unmistakable. When God is first in our businesses, we don't launch in fear or terror. We faithfully step into the unknown, making spiritual and business progress despite marketplace troubles - however dreadful things might look. For us, Kingdom-minded entrepreneurs, fear in the face of suffering won't stop us. We have faith over the fear. We have faith in our great responsibility to move forward with Jesus guiding our launch (or re-launch) plans. Father, Son, and Spirit is OUR STRENGTH. #LaunchingMyBusiness

  • 4 Steps to Eliminating Anxiety in Business, God’s Way

There’s a pathway out of the valley of the anxiety and stress of entrepreneurship. God used the apostle Paul to sketch a map for us in this passage from Philippians 4:4-8. "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." A business owner would be hard-pressed to find a passage more practical and applicable to the rollercoaster ride of entrepreneurship, wouldn't you agree? Paul lists some helpful ideas for winning the war on worry. If you want to move on from chaos into calm in your company, consider what Paul is saying. Step 1: Celebrate God's Goodness First, he says to celebrate God's goodness, to "rejoice in the Lord always." Mind you, he's writing this from a Roman jail with no money and the thought of execution looking likelier every day that passes. He's not just saying to rejoice in the Lord always, his point is: don’t meditate on the mess. The more you stare at the problems facing your business, the bigger the problems get. So when you have a problem and you're powerless over the circumstances, lift up your eyes and rejoice in the Lord. Rather than giving in to the anxiety, when you start to feel it, you lift up your eyes and rejoice in the Lord. Find some way to celebrate God's goodness - to see the glass half full in any business situation - and to be grateful for it. This is the counsel of the Psalmist that wrote: "I lift up my eyes on to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth." (Psalm 121:1) Do you see this intentionally in the words, "I will lift up my eyes?" This was the decision that the Psalmist made. This is the decision we entrepreneurs need to make when powerlessness shows its face. The apostle Peter is a testimony to this verse. You remember how when the storm struck the Sea of Galilee, he knew exactly what 10-foot waves could do to a fishing boat, and Peter cried out: “Lord if it is really you, command me to come to you in the water,” and Jesus said, “come.” Then Peter left the boat and walked towards Jesus, but when Peter saw the wind and the waves, he became afraid and he began to sink. As long as he kept his eyes on Jesus, he was able to do the impossible. But, when he saw the wind and the waves, he turned his gaze away from Christ and he began to sink. The next time you feel like you're sinking in your business, and maybe that's today for you, lift up your eyes, set your gaze on Christ, rejoice in the Lord, and rejoice in his sovereignty. Is God greater than your company problems? Has God faced this problem before? Does God have solutions you haven't even thought of? Has God taken you through these types of things before? Does God have a good track record? Is God strong? Is God sovereign? Is God still on the throne? Is He over everything else? Do you see how this is done? You're rejoicing in the Lord, you’re lifting your mind away from the business problems and you’re setting your mind on the one who can solve them. Don't meditate on the mess, instead, you rejoice. That's what it means to rejoice in the Lord. Step 2: Ask for God's Help The Apostle says having celebrated God’s goodness first, you’ll then be ready to ask God for help. "Let your request be made known to God." You see, fear for entrepreneurs triggers either despair or prayer, so choose wisely. God said: "call on me on the day of trouble." (Psalm 50:15) Jesus said: "ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7) The entrepreneurial path free from anxiety and stress is always paved with prayer. That’s why the devil doesn’t want you to pray. The path of peace is always paved with prayer. The enemy would love to shut down your ability to pray in faith. When you pray, and you take a promise of God, and you declare it over your business in whatever area, the Bible says to "believe you have received it" (Romans 10:17). Worry doesn't believe you received it. Anxiety doesn't believe you received it. Stress doesn't believe you received it. The enemy will attack your unbelief. The enemy wants your worry to start a domino effect into areas you've never even worried about before. It's crazy, all of the sudden you feel like your problems come in 3's. That's what's happening. It's a domino effect of worry. Cut it off through prayer and belief in the answer to that prayer. Prayer and anxiety go hand in hand because God wants you to pray, and walk away. Don't sit around waiting to see if God has come through or not. That's not how it was designed. That would defeat the purpose of prayer. You'd still be stressed out and anxious if you had to wait around checking in every 5 minutes if God answered your prayer. No. You walk away, stress-free, anxiety-free, confident that God is going to answer the prayer, leaving you to continue running your business! You'll see new ideas and fresh perspectives - the very creativity God might use to answer the prayer. Step 3: Practice Gratitude And with anxiety now gone from your mind, you can now replace it with gratitude. The apostle says, “in everything, by prayer and supplication, with Thanksgiving!” Anxiety and gratitude can't share the same heart inside of an entrepreneur. The next time you're anxious, begin to make a list of things for which you’re grateful. Your anxiety will begin to fade as you write because anxiety and gratitude refuse to share the same heart. Step 4: Meditate on Good Things Celebrate God's goodness in your business, leave your strategic concerns with Him, fill your heart with gratitude along your entrepreneurial journey, and lastly, meditate on good things all along the way. As a financial provider to your family and employees, it's easy to let anxious negative thoughts in business take over your mind. Listen, you can't control your circumstances, but you can control how you think about them. Peace comes from a stream of thought patterns. It's a mindset. You can be a Christian business owner, born again and on your way to heaven, yet still have no peace. Why? Because of what you’re thinking, because of what you’re meditating on, because of what you're dwelling on, because of what you’re focusing on. You're fixated on what’s going through your ear, what’s going on in your head, in between your ears. Listen, this is why so many Christian entrepreneurs fail - it's because they're stressed and anxious over a situation for which Jesus has already given the victory. For example, if God promised that big contract, and you think about the fact that my God says "He shall supply all my needs according to his riches and glory," then your mind is constantly on the fact that God will supply you. Rich or poor, contract or no contract, the freedom from anxiety doesn't come from the situation or its outcome, the freedom from stress comes from our ability to keep our minds thinking victorious thoughts about what God said in His word and your confidence that He would do it because He’s done everything else that He said He would do. So, the next time that anxiety awakens you at 2:30 in the morning, would you believe what I’m suggesting to you? I'm simply saying that it's not God’s will that you lead an entrepreneurial life of perpetual anxiety. Your Heavenly Father will help you in your business endeavors. God will help you pull out the roots of your anxiety. Your #1 business partner and a wise counselor will help you deal with the fears that face you daily along your entrepreneurial journey. #GainConfidence

  • [Business Prayer] For Provision and Increase in Income

Have you been in circumstances where you need to pay bills, and you had no clients? Your expectations for this month, days, or even this year have not been accomplished, but you know God is faithful. As entrepreneurs, we all have been there; we’ve dealt with paying bills, having debts, and sometimes even not paying our employees. Sometimes we have situations in which doubt or financial commitments can overwhelm us. Nevertheless, we acknowledge that God is in control of our circumstances. When speaking of provision, regardless of the circumstances and what we can see, our trust is in the One who created heaven and earth. During tough times, our confidence must rely on God. As we look for His will and obey His commands, we may be able to face whatever circumstances knowing that God directs our steps, and for that, we will not shake or fall. In the Bible, in the book of 1 Kings, we can see Elijah prophesied a great drought, and God directed him to go to Kerith Ravine where He sustains him and sent ravens with provision. The Bible says So he did what the Lord had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook. (1 Kings 17:5-6) As Elijah obeyed the voice of God and understood that the word that came from the Lord would be fulfilled, he had the provision of what he needed during his time in Kerith Ravine. The same way God provided Elijah, He may provide to us as long as we look for his presence and obey his commands; even though, as entrepreneurs, we may not understand our circumstances, God is in control. As we recognize that God has provided for us, join me in prayer. Dear God, I acknowledge your power and sovereignty over creation. Thank you for the business you’ve given me, and I pray that I can honor Your name through my services and products. I pray for discernment from your Holy Spirit to have the vision you have for this business. I surrender every new project, every idea, and all my business to You so Your will is done. Yours is glory and the name above ALL names. I pray that I can honor You, Lord, with my life and business; I want to serve you with righteousness. May, you Lord, give me peace when there’s a storm and where circumstances may seem wrong. As you provided to Elijah in Kerith Ravine, may you provide all that I need, as you already have knowledge of it. May you give me strength when I’m tired, and may I be courageous when the road gets hard. May I come to You every day so you can be glorified in my life and my business. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen. #GainConfidence

  • He Is Our Garment Of Praise

I don’t know about you and what this season of life is like for you, but in our little slice of Heaven, a battle is raging all around us. The warfare is heavy. The smoke and mirrors of the enemy are thick, and some days we’re just trying to put one foot in front of the other to survive. You see, we know we are on the cusp of a breakthrough in business and that God is moving, and we need to stand firm. We have done all that we can to stand and keep standing. Can I just say that in the midst of the battlefield, it’s super hard to hear the Commander’s voice, to know how to navigate when it’s dark, foggy, and smoke-filled? That like you, my spirit struggles to lead when the circumstances and flesh are screaming? It’s also a pure battle to make a choice to praise and worship when things are blowing up around you, and you feel like you’re the one wounded on the battleground in desperate need of the Medic. Below please find and pray with me an offering of praise and worship to speak and declare in the midst of your battleground. Be it business, family, the spiritual or relational victory you need, the call is to guard His presence, and He will encamp around you. Fight your way out of the darkness with the Light of Christ because He is Light, and in HIM there is no darkness at all. Be strong and courageous for the LORD your God is with you and your business, Kelly I worship You, Lord - I bring all that I am to You and worship You. Father, I come to You and lift up Your Name - the Name above all Names. I worship You, King of Kings. I come before You Father in the Name of your Son, Jesus, and thank You that I am welcome. I exalt Your Name for only You are great and worthy of praise and honor. I lift up my soul to You alone and cast away all the demands bombarding my mind, will, and emotions and lift my soul to YOU. I magnify Your name for YOU must increase, and I must decrease. I speak to my spirit to rejoice in You alone, my Saviour. I speak to my soul to magnify You. I speak to my flesh that you are crucified, and it is no longer I who lives, but it is Christ that lives in me and navigates this ship. I put on the garment of praise instead of the spirit of despair and declare that YOU are my garment! I offer You all glory, honor, and praise. I humble myself and forgive anyone You bring to mind at this moment, for You say we are to forgive whenever we stand to pray. Father, I worship You in the beauty of Your holiness and ask if there is anything in me that needs to be purified so that You can be glorified and so that You can be reflected. I trust You and let it go because I value Your Presence in my life more than my pride and anything of my flesh. Father, I exalt You and lift You up, and I thank You, Jesus, for defeating death so that I may live. Thank you, Jesus, that You hold the Keys! Thank you, that You are my victory! There is no defeat in You, and there is no battle that You have ever lost; You have WON! You have conquered! You are alive, and death is no more! You are LIFE! You are the Bright and Morning Star; in You, there is no darkness at all! I magnify You, Jesus; I magnify You, King of Kings! I declare that as the armies of Israel surrounded the Tabernacle to guard Your Presence, I set guards around my spirit, soul, and body to guard Your Presence in my life. In the Power, the Name, and the Blood of Jesus, I declare protection over THIS temple. I put on my armor - my Helmet of Salvation, my Breastplate of Righteousness, my Belt of Truth, my Shoes of Peace, and I take up my sword of the Spirit and my Shield of Faith. And Jesus, I thank You that YOU are my armor! YOU are my Salvation; YOU are my Righteousness, YOU are Truth that surrounds me, YOU are Peace. YOU are Faithful and True, and I lift You up! YOU are the Word! Jesus, it is only in You that I am safe. I set myself to honor You and thank You that no weapon formed against me will prosper because I am hidden inside You. I thank You that the Angel of the Lord encamps around me as I honor and protect Your Presence. I ask You humbly, that as You spoke to Moses face to face, would you please talk with me today and go before, and be a part of my conversations today. Holy Spirit, I ask that You would quicken to me anything that would offend, vex, sadden, or grieve You that I may walk with You in the Father’s Presence throughout this day. In YOU I live and move and have my being - I worship and exalt You, King of Kings. I praise You Victorious One! I confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father and declare His Authority and Dominion in every timeline, age, dimension, and realm and declare Your Kingdom come, and You will be done on Earth as it already is in Heaven. For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, AMEN. #GainConfidence
