We entrepreneurs, especially, want to skip over the “lessons” of life because…well…we have to make money don’t we?!?  

The wealthy business owner leaves his employees with money and tells them to invest it and he’ll be back to collect on the profits.

And when you start making money, hearts change.

Things like money, partying, and notoriety were at the top of my list.

I’m always battling this conflict in my mind of wanting to help others but needing to make money for myself.

An error by someone on my team has cost me money and reputation points in the past.

Money was tight and I was lacking direction.

When entrepreneurs can’t agree on financial principles together, like where you cut cost and where you spend money, it can be a significant source of frustration.

Lost money, lost partners, lost confidence.

The problem for us Godpreneurs is that if we’re sitting here interested in money, security, image, and reputation, the world will pull us in one direction while God’s word will take us in a different direction.

I’ve been through my shares of ups and downs in my business. And when the downs come, it seems like everything around me is crashing down. Bills get backed up, confidence is lost, a feeling of failure sets in, and the will to give up starts to creep into your mind. When we go through these times, it seems like we’re all alone. But we’re not alone. In Deuteronomy 8:6-9, Moses writes “Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him. For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills; a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey; a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills.” You might not see it because your mind is clouded with the problems of the business and where the next checks will come in to pay the bills. You might not have the faith built up yet to immediately turn to prayer when troubled times come.
