  • Putting Jesus Christ as My Business Boss.

I am a ā€œseeing is believingā€ kinda guy. I grew up in the Catholic church but didnā€™t continue after high school. I spent all of my university life and into my late 20s totally away from any kind of relationship with God because I didnā€™t see Him in anything I was doing. He wasnā€™t relevant. His power wasnā€™t present. I was large and in charge and taking the reigns of my future. I didnā€™t see God anywhere in my college life, so I didnā€™t believe. I started my business as a non-Christian. My buddies and I got together to start a web and graphic design company. Things were great. We made a bunch of money and had tons of funā€¦without God. Life was good. I didnā€™t see God anywhere in my business life, so I didnā€™t believe. Then, my mother tells me to read a book called ā€œThe Secretā€ and my mind was opened up to an ā€œunseenā€ world of power thatā€™s all around us. Shortly thereafter, a friend shares the gospel with me and explained that this power has been there all along and we have access to it 24/7 and that God is the source of that power. And around the same time, a girlfriend of mine invites me to church and something stirred deep within my soul and I felt that this was the life I wanted to live. I began to see God in everything in my personal life, so I began to believe. A few years into my walk with Christ is when I realized that my business was an extension of myself and it was also in need of saving ā€“ my business needed Jesus to be in charge. It was the only area I had not let God fully control. Itā€™s like I was holding on to a piece of my dark past. But the conviction was too great and I finally let it go to God. Thatā€™s when my business was completely transformed and I uncovered my true calling in business and in life. I began to see God in everything in my business life, and I believed even more! My faith went on fire! Jesus can save us personally and professionally. We entrepreneurs are really good at separating business from our personal life, but Jesus wants it all. I believe that there are Christian entrepreneurs out there that have given their personal life to God but havenā€™t surrendered their business lives. I know this is true because I was one of them. Maybe you donā€™t believe God can come into your business. Maybe you think itā€™s easier for others, but thereā€™s no way God would care about youā€™re doing. The bible says Then Jesus told him, ā€œBecause you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.ā€ (John 20:29 NIV) Not seeing Jesus, and yet believing is a blessing from God. If youā€™re being convicted of sin in your business and the spirit is showing you the truth about Jesus being able to take control of your business, then letā€™s pray to save your business and turn it over to God. Pray this with me. Say: Lord Jesus, You are Son of the living God. You saved me and you save my business too. You mediate between me and God and you provide me the perfect example of how to lead my business. You offered yourself for the sins of my business and take that guilt from me. You are sinless and rose from the dead and are seated at the right hand or the father and are CEO over my business. Today, I repent of the sins Iā€™ve committed in my business. I repent of the pride of ownership I have in trying to lead and fix everything on my own. I repent of looking at my products and services to save me. You alone can rescue me. I believe you lived, died, and rose to save me and my business from sin and death and replace it with passion, purpose, and a calling to witness you through my products and services. Jesus, I desire to lose my business to find a true venture in you. I place my faith in my business in you. Impart your power in my business so that I can Triumph over the enemy that doesnā€™t want me in my calling. I want to walk in my ā€œBorn to Doā€ identity. Empower me and my business for your mission to be a minister in my marketplace and that my products and services would witness to all nations that you are Lord over all. My friend, if you prayed this prayer, then I believe youā€™ve saved your business and are ready for Godpreneurship! Make sure you keep Jesus at the center of it all, read the Bible every morning before starting your business day, and get in a good Bible-based church. • How Hard (and necessary) It Is to say ā€œIā€™m Sorry, Youā€™re Rightā€

The business partnerships Iā€™ve been in are hard. Looking back now, I can see that a lot of the problems stemmed me coming into the venture full of pride of ownership and pride of the gifting and/or financial contribution I was bringing to the table. So when things didnā€™t go right, my pride would puff up and I would begin to criticize, point fingers, play the blame game, and deflect the conflict back at my partners. Oh, and forget about me ever saying ā€œIā€™m sorry.ā€ (laughing out loud). Now Iā€™m different. Iā€™m a Godpreneur in various business Partnerships with other Christians and non-Christians. Iā€™ve learned that apology is the cure for pride. Apologizing to our business partners is hard work. Saying Iā€™m sorry and changing our business behaviors is even harder, and what makes it so hard for us is pride. Being in a partnership always to some degree involves each person fighting for control. Itā€™s like being in the longest game of tug of war where the only way to stop struggling is for someone to fall. When our behaviors in the business partnership are driven by pride, we want to win every argument about money, always be right about a client. If we see difficulties in the operations is our partnerā€™s fault, we bring up our partnerā€™s admitted shortcomings of the past, and explain away or deny our own sins and weaknesses that we brought into the partnership. We need to change our mindset entirely on this partnership dilemma. Partnerships can be the very thing that Godā€™s put into our lives to continue to mold and shape us into the likeness of Christ, thus becoming the best Godpreneurs possible. We need other peopleā€™s input and critique to know how we sound, how we look, how our actions affect other people in the business. In humility, we need to realize that we arenā€™t quite as brilliant and tough as we think we are. The Bible says: ā€œDo not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of youā€ (Romans 12:3). When your business partner has an issue with something you did or didnā€™t do, develop the habit of stopping for a moment and asking yourself ā€œHow did I contribute to this issue?ā€ The golden nuggets youā€™ll discover will propel you and your business to heights you could have never imagined. Then, just say ā€œIā€™m sorry, youā€™re right, I could have done XYZ different, and Iā€™m taking responsibility for that.ā€ Easier said than done, but imagine if we all operated from this mindset of self-reflection and personal responsibility? Wow! Godpreneur Rule: Godpreneurs say Iā€™m sorry and take responsibility to grow in our partnerships. #BusinessBibleStudy #SharpenLeadership #BusinessPartnerships Finding Purpose In Your Business Partnership Instead of reading the blog posts, take the video course!Ā  I personally teach you the method.Ā  You get: Workbook 3-Video Teachings Access to dozens of courses in the Godpreneur Academy! • How Godpreneurs Wait: Part 2 ā€“ Whistle While You Wait

I picked up an amazing tool from a Tony Robbins course that I use weekly. Itā€™s called an ā€œemotional flood.ā€ Essentially, I close my eyes and imagine all the amazing things that have happened to me. It lasts for 5 minutes. Through an audio recording, Tony helps me jog my memory for all the awesome things. Essentially, you shut out the negative and ā€˜floodā€™ your mind with awesome thoughts. When our waiting feels like a ton of uncertainty in our business, without answers ā€“ much like Noahā€™s waiting, there is a danger of losing faith that God is listening. If we have these long spans of time in our businesses, it tempts us to question the faithfulness and character of God. We look around our business and thereā€™s no sign that He is answering our prayer. We wonder will he ever come through for us. In these critical moments in our entrepreneurial career, we need a strategy to win while waiting through the seeming absence of God. The Bible says in Roman 5:3 "Paul clings to the only One who can help him. He resolves to believe He will bring to fruition that which he awaits. Then he does something most of us donā€™t. In the middle of his waiting, Paul chooses to rejoice. Before it is his turn, prior to seeing any evidence that God will answer his petitions, Paul chooses to praise Godā€¦anyway". Paul clings to the only One who can help him. He resolves to believe He will bring to fruition that which he awaits. Then he does something most of us donā€™t. In the middle of his waiting, Paul chooses to rejoice. Before it is his turn, prior to seeing any evidence that God will answer his petitions, Paul chooses to praise Godā€¦anyway. Are you suffering waiting in your business? This is the time for an EMOTIONAL FLOOD. Turn on some worship music, flood your heart with praise. Look back at everything Heā€™s done for you as an Entrepreneur, and rejoice and be gladā€¦even while you wait. Maybe your circumstances in business appear to be upside down, but God is always right-side up! Worship and praise Him in the waiting. Wonder in Him while youā€™re wondering and wandering. Today, donā€™t ask for much, just praise Him. Get your heart and mind back into the place of faith and expectancy. Let God calm your business anxieties. The flood of emotions will drown out the negative feelings. Your praises will lift you out and up to the throne. Before it is your turn to succeed in business ā€“ before anything you have asked comes to fruition, praise and rejoice Him! Thatā€™s how you re-center and refocus your mind on the challenges of TODAY. When we canā€™t see through the waiting; when the big break doesnā€™t come in; and our competition pummels us with hate until we find ourselves in a desperate placeā€”praise and rejoice anyway! No one or nothing compares to God. He is the last one standing with us in our businesses. Heā€™s always there. So as we wait, we praise Him for that. If He makes our business wait, there is a divine purpose in it. I pray Godpreneurs donā€™t miss the opportunity to wait with purpose, to wait well! #GainConfidence #BusinessBibleStudy

  • Godā€™s Not in My Industry [8 Lies of Entrepreneurship]

Iā€™ve had my non-believer friends tell me ā€œThe bible was written so long ago by people that donā€™t know things today, thatā€™s why I canā€™t take it serious.ā€ Iā€™ve also had entrepreneurs tell me Christianity is an archaic institution and irrelevant in the modern business world. Heck, even some believers canā€™t connect God to their business because thereā€™s nothing in the bible that talks specifically about what they do professionally.Ā  I could imagine some are thinking if putting God at the center of our business is even worth it.Ā  They ask ā€œWhy do we even need this? Does God even care about my industry?ā€ This is the way God always intended it: he wants to express himself in any way, through every industry to every human being, and heā€™s going to use me and you to make that happen. I struggled with connecting how making logos and websites made any difference in Godā€™s big plan. I thought you had to own a nonprofit or run a church to be doing significant stuff. As I got deeper into the understanding of God and the fact that he gives purpose and passion, and that he calls us each to uniquely do something, I realized that, in fact, I donā€™t do logos and websites. Instead, I bring to life the vision of God to entrepreneurs about their purpose and calling. Iā€™m guiding people towards what they were Born to do vocationally. Thanks big stuff! Jesus said this "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruitā€”fruit that will lastā€”and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you." (John 15:16 NIV) We all have the opportunity of discovering what Godā€™s purpose is for each of our businesses because God chose us, not the other way around. Itā€™s revealed once we surrender our businesses and understand that itā€™s not there just to make us money or for us to pass the time here on earth. Thereā€™s a reason for realtors, barbers, accountants and car salesman. Each plays a significant role for God. Iā€™ve branded hundreds of companies and met thousands of entrepreneurs. Each one starts not knowing their exact purpose and significance. By the time Iā€™m done with them, they know why God wants them to exist. The truth is that owning a business is divine, timeless, and significant. You might be in it or out of it ā€“ either way, your work here is part of Godā€™s eternal purpose for the Body of Christā€¦ and it will be until our time is up. The lie is that the bible is archaic ā€“ that itā€™s written by people who didnā€™t know the internet existed and itā€™s obsolete. The truth is that God wants to impact your business, his wisdom is timeless and significant for our growth. God, make me a vessel of Your truth. When I begin to doubt the validity and need for you at the center of every business move, make me willing to take that thought captive. By Your Spirit and Your Word, convict me of Your divine purpose in my business for my good and for Your glory. Amen. #BusinessBibleStudy #FindMyCalling 8 Lies of Entrepreneurship In this course, I show you 8 lies that keep Godpreneurs bogged down in feelings of inadequacy, insecurities of owning a business, and 8 truths to combat lies.
