God’s Faithfulness While Building Your Family Empire
A 3-Day Devotional For Married Entrepreneurs

DAY 2
Transitioning In Peace

O.L.: I  couldn’t believe it and didn’t plan for it to go this way. I was in the office for 20 minutes when I was called to the conference room to be fired. I always thought I would leave on my own terms.

Sway: Then he called me upset about what happened. I had peace because God told us 6 months prior His plan was for both of us to be in full-time entrepreneurship in order for Him to execute His will for our lives. We got into all three doctors that SAME day (General practitioner for a physical, Optometrist, and Dentist). It was a crazy day and the beginning of a crazy ride.

O.L.: Her peace helped give me peace as I knew this was God’s way of showing me another level of His plan and faithfulness. Actually, I was working on very large commercial deal (outside of the bank) 12 months prior, and 30 days after I got fired I received my commision check. Wow! More money than I ever made at one time, and I was then a bonafide entrepreneur. This was an awesome segue to us building together.

Sway: I was ecstatic of course, but I KNEW God was faithful. I just didn’t know how He was going to instruct us. We started putting systems together as He led and He continued to direct each step.

For those of you who are wondering HOW exactly God will use your business for His glory, just continue to stay before Him daily. He has proven to be our TRUE Source.

Staying in agreement and intentionally avoiding strife is a key component to getting clarity and hearing God’s voice, especially in a vulnerable transition.

Ephesians 4:2-3 NASB

2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

God’s plans for your marriage and business are good. He will use even the dark seasons as preparation for future opportunities. On the next post we’ll share how He did exactly that for us when He took us from living out of our suitcases to grossing nearly seven figures. We can’t wait to share what He has taught us on this faith journey.

Today’s prayer:

Lord,  that your plan is good for us in this season is NO surprise to You. We know that You have ordered our steps and that You desire for us to walk in peace- not just with others, but especially with one another. While many things seem uncertain, one thing we ARE certain of is that You have called us to do this (and You have) You will be faithful to preserve us, keep us and make us victorious.

In Christ’s Name,

Amen.
